“Thank you, council members,” Mitsuru said. “That concludes our meeting. We’ll see you Friday.”

The other student council members gathered up their belongings and chatted on their way out, but Chihiro lingered behind as always. She wanted to prove her total dedication as council treasurer, to stand out above the apathetic student council members who put in the bare minimum of effort. She pushed in chairs and straightened the desks into immaculate rows, sweeping eraser crumbs from the desktops. All the while, she kept the council president, Mitsuru Kirijo, in her peripheral vision.

( Mitsuru was the Virgin Queen—a champion of the people and an upright protector, a woman who she put her duty first, even at the cost of a love life. )

Hello, Comm! First post here, with a request for some discussion. :) I got onto the Darker than Black fandom boat a little late, but after blasting through the first season in two days and getting caught up in the second season, I wanted to know, in general, fandom's feelings towards the follow-up sequel. Perhaps because I watched both seasons within such close proximity, time-wise, but the notable differences between the seasons has left me wondering if I'm the only one thinking that Bones is carrying out another case of sequelitis.

In any case, I'm highly interested to know what others are thinking of Ryusei no Gemini, and their take on the new season. Do you feel that Bones is butchering their highly acclaimed series, or do you think the changes they have integrated are distinct enough to warrant recognition? What are your expectations for the current direction the plot seems to be heading? Please, discuss.

Awakening--Part 2

God, he was tired. Akihiko trudged down the hall to the locker room after his latest boxing match with a towel around his neck and his boxing gloves dangling from one hand. He’d upheld his flawless record with yet another K.O., but it was impatience as much as skill that let him snap out the winning punch. He was so exhausted, he didn’t have the stamina to dance around for a points-based T.K.O. He thought, “Let’s get this over with,” and lunged forward with his diminishing strength. The next thing he remembered was the startled look of disbelief on his opponent’s face before the boy hit the mat in a daze. The crowd surged and cheered, but the praise that once fueled Akihiko’s self-esteem now only exacerbated the start of a splitting headache.

( "I have a very simple request.” Mitsuru's eyes flicked up and down over him as if sizing up a horse she might like to buy. )

I'm one of your new mods, eucatastrophe.
As some of you have observed, the community layout header is currently down - something that will hopefully be fixed sometime soon!
starlady38 and I have decided to hold a layout competition for the community, and would love any layout makers to participate. In order to give you guys some time to prepare layouts, we will not be officially opening the competition until the first week of December.
In the meantime, we'll continue to using the current layout (even though it has a header problem), but everyone can look forward to a seeing a new and improved one after the competition ;)

Hello everyone!

I've just joined and, taking the advice of the info page, decided to introduce myself. While I've never had a chance to play Tales of the Abyss, I've watched a friend of mine play through it. I fell in love with shorthaired!Luke, Guy, and Asch, especially pairings between the three of them, though I tend to focus on pairings/threesomes involving Luke.

I'm not much of an artist, so I'll probably be posting various drabbles/writings more often then not, and I'm learning Japanese, so I'll be working on translating various raw scans (though the quality will be dubious at best).

Hello community! It's so great to be part of such a wonderful group! The past several months I've been recuperating from a couple of surgeries and when I was finally able to get back online, reading the fanfics here brightened each day. I've always enjoyed reading the fanfics everyone's shares here. I hope to get back into writer mode someday, soon would be nice but I don't see it happening. Which brings me to my "request".

This morning while listening to the radio I heard a song, one I've heard before but never paid attention to the lyrics. Now that I listened to the words, I realized it's PERFECT for a "prompt" for some Kakashi x Iruka fics! I hope several people out there would like to give it a try. I know I'd love to read what everyone comes up.
